How Much Money Did Olivia Rodrigo Make From Drivers License
These days, you can't go anywhere without hearing Olivia Rodrigo's music. The 18-year-old has fully taken over the music scene with her incredibly catchy choruses and bridges that make you want to whip out a hairbrush and dance around the room. But Olivia's star isn't the only thing on the rise, her net worth is as well, and in 2021 alone, the singer has racked in a lot of dough.
Unsurprisingly, her music most likely makes up a big percentage of this paycheck. In case you forgot, "Drivers License" was a smash hit and recently became the first song to pass 1 billion streams on Spotify in 2021. The rest of her album was also a hit on the charts. In fact, Olivia has been so successful, she even has Spotify shook.
"We've never seen anything like this, where you do have a newer artist that just comes out of the gate in such a dominant way and just continues to grow," Spotify's Global Hits Lead Becky Bass told Billboard. "I mean, we were like, 'Whoa, these first-day numbers are huge!' And then they were bigger the second day, bigger the third day…so it really feels unprecedented and likely is unprecedented."
And, according to research by Orpheus Audio Academy, the average pay-out per stream on Spotify is $0.003. Of course, that price varies per country, and different streaming platforms like Apple Music and Deezer pay between $0.006 and $0.007 per stream. Multiply that by 1 billion, and that's a pretty penny.

However, Olivia has interpolated several songs on her album. She gave writing credits to Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent for the influence their original work on "New Years Day" and "Cruel Summer" had on Olivia's songs. Liv also gave Hayley Williams and the former guitarist of Paramore, Joshua Farro, credit for implementing elements from their 2007 smash hit, "Misery Business," into "Good 4 U." Because of this, Olivia paid out $1.2 million in royalties to Paramore and close to three-quarters of a million dollars to Taylor, Jack, and St. Vincent. This may affect her net worth, but it doesn't undermine her success and the incredible strides she's made in 9 months alone.
Of course, with music, there's merch, and fans were quick to snag Olivia's drops for SOUR. She has a line of products featuring lyrics and motifs from her hit songs and I wouldn't be surprised if she was making loads off it because, personally, I want to cop it all.
It's Brutal Out Here Bucket Hat
And that's not even mentioning her acting. Olivia got her first big role in Disney's Bizaardvark back in 2016 and ever since then she's been pretty much a staple on television. These days, of course, she stars on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. While we don't know how much Olivia made off these roles, according to TMZ, Olivia's former Bizaardvark co-star, Ethan Wacker, made $375K over the first two seasons and Olivia had a more major role than he did.
So, it's safe to say Olivia is doing well for herself, but exactly how well? According to Celebrity Net Worth, Olivia is worth $4 million dollars. Back in January 2021, Popbuzz estimated she was worth about $500,000 so, yeah, it's safe to say she's having a good year.
